The Backstreet Project

SLM-bspHOME

So Jaclyn did a Flashback Friday covering the Burger King campaign. If you haven’t read it, you should. It truly does cover how the Boys were at the top of their career and basically could do everything and ANYTHING. They were just that big. It was a great time and led to a comic book and action figures most of us still own today. Nick designed them with Stan Lee. That’s so huge. That’s not why we held on to this stuff though. To be honest, it’s mainly because we’re fangirls and we don’t let that stuff go! LOL.

But when was the last time you watched the Webisodes?

Bet it’s been a LONG time. How do I know this? Because I have the files. Because they were saved in a weird format and for years I’ve been trying to figure out how to convert them. I looked for them on Youtube. Guess what? THEY AREN’T THERE. It’s insane! It was a huge moment in the history of the fandom and they are impossible to find on the net. But…you know what, I figured it out. We recently hit a huge milestone on twitter (1,000 Followers). So I was taking upload requests. I got one for the Backstreet Project Webisodes. I’ve had them for years but I’ve never sorted out a way to upload them for a stream. I tried again tonight. I was victorious.

So get ready!

They are cheesy, they are hilarious. Everything about these webisodes is over the top. But you know what? That’s what makes them so freaking great to watch. There’s a moment in one of them were all you see are neon colors and dancing Backstreet Boy heads. You read that right by the way. Dancing…Backstreet Boy…HEADS. Howie also manages to be the reason WHY they don’t die in one webisode!

Right? That doesn’t even happen in fanfiction!

You will love these. I promise. I die laughing every single time. It’s like mixing the Boys with the 90s version of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. In fact the voice of Nick in these reminds me of Michelangelo LOL. But enough of me rambling. That’s only part of why you’re here. Now we can go back in time, and enjoy something that virtually vanished from the face of the internet.

And younger fans? Are you ready? BE READY.

Warning…Webisode 7 ends in a cliff hanger that never got resolved. Prepare for frustration.
